I grew up on the beautiful gulf coast of Alabama in the small artsy town of Fairhope.
I have always loved to paint and love the transformation that bright colors can make. I have painted on fabric and furniture, but glass is my new true love.
Several years ago a family friend (an artist, of course) had a health problem and asked me to complete an art project for her. At that time I had not painted on glass, so this was a wonderful learning experience for me. After working hard to learn this new medium and technique I was hooked. As another friend's birthday approached I decided to design and paint a set of champagne flutes with bright fun colors, thus my Cheers! design was born.
Had it not been for two wonderful friends (one who needed help with a glass painting project and one who had an upcoming birthday) I would not have been introduced to this medium and would never have dreamed that I could develop my own original designs and give them as gifts. Thank you Laurel and Cheryl.
After developing my first original cool design (Cheers!) I painted my first set of glasses and gave them as a birthday gift. After showing the glasses to other family members and friends who loved them I was encouraged to paint more and sell them to the public through local Arts and Crafts shows. Thus "I'll Drink to That" was born.
All of my designs are original, with the expection of the polka-dot, of course, and I am continually working on new designs. Each item is hand-painted, dried for 24 hours and baked in the oven.
In September 2007 I quit my "real job" and am enjoying working from my studio at home.
